New Jules Chevalier Studio (JCS) Ready for Opening in 2019!

On the 5th of January 2019, I was given a very privileged tour of the new JULES CHEVALIER STUDIO (JCS) located at the MSC (Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus) Center at 2 mile, Port Moresby by Br Augustine Ulalom, MSC.

Established in 2018, the new recording studio is set to be opened later this year after a blessing and  an inaugural recording session by our seminarians from the DeBoismenu College up at Bomana.
After this the studio will be open to the general public with recording fees yet to be set and published.

So if you have been blessed with musical talent you want to offer back to God in songs that will bring others and yourself closer to Christ, come over to the JCS and record your music and help spread the love for the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

PNG Music Legend Patti Doi himself is set to work along side the JCS staff as a guest sound engineer/producer – with that you know you can expect quality from JCS!

So come on over to the Jules Chevalier Studio and support this project by the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus who do a lot in our dioceses, parishes and communities in Papua New Guinea.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart!
Pray for Us!

May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be everywhere loved!
Forever!

The biblical reason why Catholics baptize infants

Infant baptism has been practiced by the Catholic Church from the very beginning.

Following the commission of Jesus Christ, the Catholic Church from the very beginning has incorporated the sacrament of Baptism into her primary mission. This is clearly evident in the writings of the New Testament, which highlight a baptism without any age limit.

For example, in the book of Acts St. Luke writes about the baptism of an entire household, “One who heard us was a woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyati′ra, a seller of purple goods, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to give heed to what was said by Paul. And when she was baptized, with her household” (Acts 16:14-15).

St. Paul similarly writes, “I did baptize also the household of Stephanas” (1 Corinthians 1:16).

Many biblical scholars agree that an entire household would have included people of every age. Furthermore, Catholics retained the tradition of infant Baptism throughout the centuries and never ceased in its practice.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church affirms this practice based on scripture and historical tradition, “The practice of infant Baptism is an immemorial tradition of the Church. There is explicit testimony to this practice from the second century on, and it is quite possible that, from the beginning of the apostolic preaching, when whole ‘households’ received baptism, infants may also have been baptized” (CCC 1252).

The Church has always seen infant Baptism as a great gift and responsibility, something that “accords with [parents’] role as nurturers of the life that God has entrusted to them” (CCC 1251).

It is a beautiful tradition in the Catholic Church, one that recognizes the many graces received at Baptism, making room for the Holy Spirit to guide the heart of the child for the rest of their lives.

The Catholic Church is the Only True Apostolic Church

The Holy Catholic Church is the ONLY church on earth that can claim to be truly APOSTOLIC.
We can trace our unbroken  history and origin right back to the Apostles and to Christ himself our founder.
One of my favorite sources of this unbroken line of succession is the complete list of Popes from from St Peter, the leader of the Apostles right down to our current Pope Francis.

Anti-Catholics say our tradition of electing a new pope is unbiblical and is a man-made tradition. But they fail to see that Acts 1:21-26 tells us that the apostles voted to find Judas’ replacement, which in this case was Matthias.

Why is the Catholic Church Head in Rome when it was founded 33AD in Jerusalem?

The Catholic church claims to have been founded in Jerusalem in 33AD. But why is its headquarter found in Rome?

Answer: Jerusalem 33AD, yes it was where and when the church was founded. But its headquarter is in Rome because in 70AD during Jerusalem’s total destruction, the apostles had to move to other places and one of the places they reached was Rome that is why its HQ is in Rome but it will never erase the fact that the church was first established in Jerusalem.

APOLOGETICS: WHO FOUNDED YOUR CHURCH OR CULT, BASED IN HISTORY?

WHO FOUNDED YOUR CHURCH OR CULT, BASED IN HISTORY?

.
Any claims that Protestants or other non-Catholic Christians make in regards in claiming to be the one true Church founded by Christ is completely false, based on historical facts.
.
If you are a Lutheran, your religion was founded by Martin Luther, an ex- monk of the Catholic Church, in the year 1517. He then broke his vow of celibacy and married a nun, then removed 7 books from the bible.
.
If you are an adventist, your cult was founded by Mrs. Ellen White on 1865 in Michigan USA, after William Miller failed to predict Christ second coming on 1843 and 1844. SDA then started from a false prophesy.
.
If you belong to the Church of England, your religion was founded by King Henry VIII in the year 1534 because the Pope would not grant him a divorce with the right to remarry.
.

The Only Church founded by Jesus Christ – The Catholic Church

By Fr Zdzislaw Karczewski.

The ‘Bible only’ believers approach Catholics  with  strange comment  about the Church, for example they say: ‘Church can’t  help you to go to heaven’ (Sios i no inap long heipim yu long go long heven). The fact, that there is no such  quotation in the entire Scripture, should be enough to prove the falsity of such  statement. Another comment used quite often  by them is a similar one: ‘All churches are equal, all of them worship the same God (Olgeta lotu I wankain, mipela I lotu long wanpela God tasol).  In response to it, they  should be asked to  show  from the Bible a single verse which says: ‘All churches are equal’.  Such statement is nonbiblical. It can’t be found in the Scriptures. The Bible gives an entirely different teaching. Jesus spoke about His Church founded on Peter the Rock: and I say to you, you are Peter and upon this rock I will build My Church ( He didn’t say my churches), and the gates of Hades will never prevail against it… (Mt 16:18-19). There is only one God and there is only one Church, the Church founded by Christ Himself – the Catholic Church. Christ is the Head  and  the Church  is His Body (Ep1:23). Being the Truth Himself (Jn 14:6) Christ is free of any error, in the same way the Church which is His Body  can  never go astray. Paul says that the CHURCH (not the Bible)is the pillar and foundation of the truth (1Tim 3:15).

The unity of  the Church

Christ  has foreseen  the  multitude of the attacks  launched  by satan on  the Catholic Church in the future, that is why He prayed for her  unity : That they may be one…(Jn 17:20). The unity consists  in following the same teachings proclaimed by the first leaders (the Apostles). John the Apostle wrote about themselves in his First Letter: “We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us, and whoever is not from God does not listen to us. From this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error “(1Jn 4:6). Christ Himself cannot be changed ‘Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever‘(He 13:8). The conclusion of these words is obvious, the teaching of Christ cannot be changed  either. With the words:: Whoever listens to you listens to me, and whoever rejects  you rejects me, and whoever rejects me, rejects the one who sent me (Lu 10:16)  Jesus has appointed His Apostles to be the teachers of truth. With the similar words spoken to the Apostles He has confirmed  the  appointment: Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven (Mt 18:18). The leaders of the Church – the Catholic Church established by Christ, are the guarantee of  unity. Divisions in the Church never come from God and must be strictly avoided. Saint Paul says: Now I appeal to you brothers in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that all of you be in agreement and that there is no divisions among you but that you be united in the same mind and the same purpose (1Cor 1:10). I urge you, brothers to keep an eye on those who cause dissensions and offenses, in oppositions to the teaching that you have learned. Avoid them… (Rom 16:17-18).  Titus wrote: After the first and second warning, avoid a man of heresy, knowing that such a man has been perverted, and sins, being self- condemned ( Ti 3:10).
On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit has been given precisely to the Catholic Church (Acts 2:1- 4) in order to guide and protect her. Many of the protestant denominations claim to be the ones, who  have received the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. Let us have a look whether protestant  denominations  follow the whole Christ’s teaching ?  God spoke about the necessity of following the Tradition of the Apostles (2Tes 2:15), they reject it. Christ spoke about the sacrament of confession (Jn 20:23). None of them follow it. Christ has said His first Mass (Mt 26:26-28). He took bread and wine (not cordial) and changed them into His Body and Blood. The protestant denominations don’t say they change bread into Christ’s  Body and wine (cordial) into Christ’s Blood. During their ‘lotu’ bread remains bread, cordial remains cordial. For them it is only a commemoration of the Body and Blood of Christ. After the presentation of a few examples, the conclusion  is  obvious, all protestant denominations do not follow the whole of Christ’s teaching. If  the Holy Spirit  had  been  the one who  was  leading  them, definitely  they would  not omit any of Christ’s teachings. The whole Christ’s teaching  is kept by one Church ONLY – the Catholic Church.  That is why  Saint Paul says: ‘the Church is the pillar and foundation of the truth’ (1Tim 3:15).

ADVENT PRAYER

Come, long-expected Jesus. Excite in me a wonder at the wisdom and power of Your Father and ours. Receive my prayer as part of my service of the Lord who enlists me in God’s own work for justice.

Come, long-expected Jesus. Excite in me a hunger for peace: peace in the world, peace in my home, peace in myself.

Come, long-expected Jesus. Excite in me a joy responsive to the Father’s joy. I seek His will so I can serve with gladness, singing and love.

Come, long-expected Jesus. Excite in me the joy and love and peace it is right to bring to the manger of my Lord. Raise in me, too, sober reverence for the God who acted there, hearty gratitude for the life begun there, and spirited resolution to serve the Father and Son.

I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, whose advent I hail. Amen.

Purgatory

By Fr Zdzislaw Karczewski.

The  Bible speaks about heaven. It speaks about Hell (gehena).  Does the Bible speak about Purgatory?  The place or rather the state where souls of the dead are being purified, cleansed before  entering heaven.  The Christians always prayed for the dead. They strongly believe that souls of the dead people remain in Hades (in Latin language  it is called Purgatory). The strong tradition of praying for the dead have been kept  by the Jews. It can be read in the Second Book of Maccabees (2Macabi 12:42-43). The Jews believe  the souls of the dead  are  in the place called ‘Sheol’.  Bible speaks clearly that the souls of the dead are alive: King Saul have talked with the soul of the dead prophet  Samuel (1Sm 28:7-20). On Mountain Tabor the Apostles witnessed  resurrected Jesus  speaking with Moses and the prophet Isaiah the ones who have died long ago (Mt 17:2-3). God is not the God of the dead but of the living (Lu 20:38).
Christ preached that everyone will be salted with fire (Mk 9:49). In order to understand Christ’s words better  we have to look at the passage speaking about  the judgment: For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad (2Cor 5:10).                                                                 There is a common conviction among some Christian denominations that every sin is equal, that the gravity of every sin is the same. John disproves such a claim. He points at two  different kinds of sin; The mortal (deadly) sin and the venial one. In his First Letter he explains:“Every kind of evil is sin, but not all sins id deadly” (1Jn 5:17). There are souls of the dead however which are not crystal clean yet? There are souls which didn’t pay their debts to the full yet?  Saint John warns the believers: nothing unclean will enter heaven (Rev 21:27). They have to undergo a cleansing process first. They have to be cleansed by a fire. The soul of a rich man suffering in fire bagged  Abraham for a help (Lu 16:24). St Paul speaks about the purifying fire as well: each man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself shall prove each man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work shall abide which he built thereon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as through fire (1Cor 3:13-15).                                                                           Those who didn’t straighten their lives  before their death will be put into a prison to pay their debts to the last penny. Here are Christ’s words: : “while you are going with your opponent to appear before the magistrate, on your way there make an effort to settle with him, so that he may not drag you before the judge, and the judge turn you over to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison”. I say to you, you will not get out of there until you have paid the very last cent” (Lu 12:58-59).
Can the souls suffering in the Purgatory be helped? Can we speed up their entry into heaven?  Of course we can, as a matter of fact we are obliged to do so. There is a strong Tradition in the Catholic Church of praying for the dead. The most effective  help is the Holy  Eucharist said by a priest for the soul of the deceased. To pray the rosary is very powerful means  also. Any kind of prayer can be said in order the help those in Purgatory.
